These titles can also be found through the public library as well. This will take place in the afternoon.īattle books are available for checkout through the library. The top four teams who emerge from this round of competition will battle in March for the championship and for champion of the consolation bracket. The students will participate in four rounds of round robin competition. Most successful teams divide the list up amongst teammates to make sure all the titles have been read by at least one team member. Students have until late February to carefully read the books before the “battles” begin. While there are a wide variety of books on the list, the program is meant to be a challenge to students who participate. The list of books is from a statewide Battle of the Books list developed by Wisconsin school librarians. Students choose their own teams and team names. Fourth and fifth grade students can participate by forming teams of four. Each team will be responsible for reading a list of twenty books. Robbins' Battle of the Books The Robbins' Battle of the Books progam is an entirely voluntary one, whose goal is to promote literacy and an appreciation of literature.
